Our client, a prestigious Amlaw 50 firm, is seeking a junior to mid-level Associate Attorney to join their high-performing Energy and Infrastructure Tax Practice in San Francisco, Chicago, or Washington, DC. This position offers the opportunity to work with a globally integrated team on high-impact transactions in the energy and infrastructure sectors.

 

 

Candidate Profile

  • JD from a top-tier law school with a strong academic record.

  • Active Bar Admission in the relevant jurisdiction, in good standing.

  • 3–6 years of substantive transactional tax experience at a major law firm.

  • Experience handling the tax aspects of transactions related to infrastructure and renewable and conventional energy projects.

  • Familiarity with the financing of renewable energy assets and the monetization of tax credits.

  • Excellent drafting, analytical, and communication skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex transactions and work effectively with cross-functional deal teams.

  • A client-service mindset, collaborative attitude, and eagerness to take on increasing responsibility.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Advise developers, sponsors, and investors on renewable energy projects, particularly the development of wind and solar projects.
  • Provide strategic counsel on the financing of renewable energy assets and monetization of tax credits.

  • Advise on the tax aspects of energy and infrastructure transactions, drafting and negotiating related documents.

  • Work closely across the practice with attorneys specializing in M&A, real estate, and infrastructure matters to deliver integrated solutions for clients navigating the energy transition market.

  • Assist with business development initiatives and contribute to a high-performance, team-oriented practice culture.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive compensation: Expected annual salary range of $260,000-$390,000, depending on experience and market factors, alongside discretionary performance-based bonuses.
