General Summary

The Maintenance Technician performs preventive and corrective maintenance on equipment, machinery, and facility systems to ensure operational reliability and efficiency. This role supports the maintenance team by troubleshooting issues, conducting repairs, and maintaining a safe and functional work environment in compliance with industry standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Performs routine preventive maintenance on mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.

  • Diagnoses and repairs equipment malfunctions, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.

  • Conducts inspections of machinery, tools, and facility systems to detect wear, damage, or potential failures.

  • Assists in the installation, setup, and calibration of new equipment or systems as needed.

  • Maintains accurate records of maintenance activities, including repair logs, parts used, and service schedules.

  • Ensures proper handling and storage of maintenance tools, spare parts, and supplies to support ongoing operations.

  • Collaborates with the maintenance team and other departments to coordinate repair schedules and minimize operational disruptions.

  • Adheres to all safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies during maintenance activities.

  • Supports facility maintenance tasks, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general building repairs.

  • Utilizes diagnostic tools, schematics, and technical manuals to troubleshoot and repair complex systems.

  • Reports equipment performance issues, maintenance needs, and recommendations to the Maintenance Manager.

  • Participates in training to stay current on maintenance techniques, equipment technologies, and safety protocols.

  • Assists with special projects, such as equipment upgrades or facility improvements, as directed.

  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or associate’s degree in industrial maintenance, electrical systems, or a related field preferred.

  • Experience: 1+ years of experience in industrial maintenance or a related technical field, preferably in manufacturing or distribution environments.

  • Skills: Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, or pneumatic systems; ability to read schematics and use diagnostic tools.

  • Certifications: Certifications such as OSHA safety training or trade-specific credentials (e.g., electrical or HVAC) are a plus.

  • Work Environment: Works in an industrial facility setting with exposure to machinery, noise, and varying temperatures; may require occasional overtime or on-call availability.
