Drives maximum sales profitability, growth, and account penetration within an assigned territory or market segment by effectively promoting and selling the company’s products and services. Actively secures new business accounts and customers through a relationship-based approach.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Promotes, sells, and secures orders from existing and prospective customers by building strong relationships.

  • Demonstrates products and services to customers, assisting them in selecting solutions that best meet their needs.

  • Establishes and maintains business relationships with current and prospective customers to generate new business opportunities.

  • Conducts outreach through telephone calls, in-person visits, and presentations to engage existing and potential customers.

  • Researches and identifies prospective customers, assessing their potential to drive business growth.

  • Develops clear, effective written proposals and quotations tailored to customer needs.

  • Resolves customer issues and complaints promptly to ensure satisfaction.

  • Collaborates with marketing, sales management, accounting, logistics, and technical service teams to support sales efforts.

  • Analyzes market potential and evaluates the value of existing and prospective customers to the organization.

  • Creates and manages customer value plans, outlining profiles, share, and growth opportunities for existing customers.

  • Identifies and communicates the competitive advantages of the organization’s products and services.

  • Plans and organizes a personal sales strategy to maximize return on time investment within the territory or segment.

  • Provides management with regular oral and written reports on customer needs, challenges, interests, competitive activities, and opportunities for new products or services.

  • Stays informed on product applications, technical services, market conditions, competitive activities, and industry trends through relevant literature and collaboration with marketing and technical teams.

  • Participates in trade shows, conventions, and other industry events as required.

  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

    Education and/or Experience

    · A high school diploma or general education degree (GED). 

    · A bachelor’s degree or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    · A valid KY driver’s license. 

    · Automation or fluid power industry experience is strongly preferred.

    Language Skills 

    Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.

    Mathematical Skills 

    Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. 

    Reasoning Ability 

    Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. 

    Computer Skills 

    To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Contact Management systems; Database software; Design software; Internet software; Inventory software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
