General Summary

The Maintenance Manager oversees the maintenance and repair of equipment, facilities, and systems to ensure operational efficiency and reliability. This role is responsible for developing and implementing maintenance strategies, managing a team of technicians, and ensuring compliance with safety and industry standards to support uninterrupted business operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Plans, schedules, and supervises preventive and corrective maintenance for equipment, machinery, and facilities to minimize downtime.

  • Manages a team of maintenance technicians, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations, to ensure a skilled and efficient workforce.

  • Develops and implements maintenance programs, policies, and procedures to optimize equipment performance and longevity.

  • Monitors and maintains inventory of spare parts, tools, and supplies to support maintenance activities.

  • Coordinates with operations, production, and other departments to align maintenance schedules with operational needs.

  • Diagnoses equipment failures, identifies root causes, and implements solutions to prevent recurrence.

  • Ensures compliance with all safety regulations, industry standards, and environmental guidelines during maintenance activities.

  • Manages maintenance budgets, controls costs, and identifies opportunities for cost-saving measures without compromising quality.

  • Maintains accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment performance, and repair histories.

  • Oversees the maintenance of facility infrastructure, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and other systems, to ensure a safe and functional work environment.

  • Implements predictive maintenance techniques, such as condition monitoring, to proactively address potential issues.

  • Collaborates with vendors and contractors for specialized repairs, equipment upgrades, or service contracts.

  • Prepares and submits regular reports to management on maintenance activities, equipment status, and improvement recommendations.

  • Stays current on industry trends, maintenance technologies, and best practices to enhance maintenance operations.

  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, industrial maintenance, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.

  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in maintenance management, preferably in an industrial, manufacturing, or distribution environment.

  • Skills: Proficiency in maintenance management software, strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, and knowledge of industrial equipment.

  • Certifications: Certifications such as CMRP (Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional) or similar are a plus.

  • Work Environment: Works in both office and operational facility settings, with exposure to industrial environments and occasional travel to supplier or customer sites.
