Hydraulic/Fluid Power Systems Engineer

Position Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Hydraulic/Fluid Power Systems Engineer to design, develop, and support hydraulic systems for heavy-duty mobile equipment. This role is responsible for ensuring that hydraulic and fluid power systems are efficient, reliable, and meet performance, safety, and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate has strong technical expertise in fluid power, system integration, and troubleshooting, paired with a hands-on approach to engineering in a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop hydraulic systems for heavy-duty equipment applications, including pumps, valves, motors, cylinders, hoses, and fittings.

  • Perform system sizing, component selection, and circuit design using fluid power engineering principles.

  • Create and review hydraulic schematics, system layouts, and CAD drawings.

  • Conduct performance simulations, calculations, and validation testing to ensure optimal system operation.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including mechanical, electrical, and manufacturing engineers to integrate hydraulic systems into overall equipment designs.

  • Provide technical support for prototype builds, system testing, and field evaluations.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve hydraulic system issues in production and field environments.

  • Support cost reduction, reliability improvement, and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards and safety regulations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Fluid Power Engineering, or related discipline (Master’s preferred).

  • 3–7 years of experience in hydraulic/fluid power system design for mobile or heavy equipment.

  • Proficiency in hydraulic circuit design, component sizing, and fluid power simulation software (e.g., Automation Studio, MATLAB/Simulink, or similar).

  • Strong understanding of fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, and system integration.

  • Experience with CAD tools (SolidWorks, Creo, or AutoCAD).

  • Knowledge of industry standards (ISO, SAE, NFPA) and safety requirements.

  • Hands-on experience with hydraulic testing, instrumentation, and diagnostics.

  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary and performance-based incentives.

  • Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and retirement plans.

  • Professional development opportunities, training, and career growth.

  • The chance to work on innovative, industry-leading equipment projects that make a real impact.
