Our client, a leading Animal Processing manufacturer, is actively looking for a Live Procurement Assistant.
As the Live Procurement Assistant, you will provide essential administrative and reporting support to the live procurement team. You will work closely with the manager, a second assistant, and multiple third-party growers while helping coordinate chick orders, catching activities, transportation logistics, and grower settlements.
Live Procurement Assistant Details
1. Annual Salary: Up to $67,000*
2. Group Benefits: Starting day one
3. Healthcare Spending Account: $500 per program year
4. Vacation: 15 paid vacation days annually
5. Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm
6. Work Arrangement: Fully on-site during training; hybrid arrangement may be considered thereafter
Live Procurement Assistant Responsibilities
1. Completing daily grower payments
2. Preparing weekly regulatory reports
3. Creating, distributing, and collecting required forms
4. Preparing period gains and losses reports
5. Producing daily grower history reports and associated graphs
6. Distributing daily catching reports to support accurate settlements
7. Reviewing and maintaining information within industry-regulated online portals
8. Supporting growers and regulatory partners with portal-related issues
9. Providing daily operational reports to internal departments
10. Coordinating bloodwork invoice deductions and forwarding documentation to Accounts Payable
11. Maintaining detailed and accurate grower profiles
12. Organizing, filing, and maintaining settlement documentation
13. Occasionally joining the field representative for farm visits to support operational understanding
Live Procurement Assistant Qualifications
1. Warm, friendly communicator with strong written and phone communication skills
2. Comfortable with highly repetitive, detail-focused administrative work
3. Strong math skills and exceptional accuracy
4. High technological proficiency and confidence navigating online portals and digital forms
5. Live poultry procurement preferred but not required
6. Above all, we’re looking for someone eager, proactive, and motivated to learn and grow. Candidates who are developing this skill set may start at the lower end of the salary range.
7. Ability to support internal and external stakeholders with portal-related issues
8. Organized, dependable, and able to manage time-sensitive tasks in a fast-paced environment
9. Valid driver’s license for occasional field ride-alongs (asset)
