Our Award-Winning Client, a leading provider of aerospace and industrial fastening systems, is seeking a Quality Assurance Manager to join their team. This global organization is renowned for its advanced engineered solutions in the aerospace and transportation industries. The company’s products are critical to various sectors, including jet engines, military defense aircraft, automobiles, commercial transportation, and renewable energy systems like wind turbines and solar power systems.

Position Overview

The Quality Assurance Manager will oversee the development and leadership of the Quality Assurance system to ensure that products meet all necessary product standards in compliance with AS9100 and the Quality Assurance Manual. This individual will take a leading role in driving continuous improvement efforts across the facility and managing a high-performing team.

This position plays a vital role in managing quality assurance strategies, setting priorities, and implementing changes to meet customer and corporate quality standards. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting, a deep understanding of quality management processes, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership and Team Management:

    • Supervise, evaluate, and develop the Quality Assurance team, ensuring high performance and efficiency.
    • Hire, train, and recommend salary adjustments for staff within the Quality Assurance department.
  • Quality Systems and Process Improvement:

    • Develop and implement procedures for incoming product inspection, disposition, and record retention.
    • Lead root cause analysis of non-conformance issues, implementing corrective actions and continuous improvements.
    • Monitor and track non-conformance costs, utilizing data collection and statistical systems to support process control.
    • Coordinate management meetings to review quality issues, corrective actions, and improvements.
  • Compliance and Auditing:

    • Ensure compliance with AS9100, ISO 9001, and industry regulatory requirements.
    • Conduct and coordinate customer and accreditation audits, including the enhancement of the internal audit system.
    • Lead training programs focused on preventive quality systems for all employees.
  • Customer and Operations Support:

    • Interface with customers and operations teams to ensure that product realization and continuous improvements meet established requirements.
    • Maintain the Gage calibration system to ensure compliance with operating procedures and improve inspection techniques and equipment.

Required Qualifications

  • Educational Background:

    • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Quality or a related field.
  • Experience:

    • A minimum of 5 years of experience in quality management, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
    • Prior experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment is preferred.
  • Skills and Knowledge:

    • In-depth knowledge of aerospace product/process specifications (AMS, ASTM, etc.) and quality principles (SPC, TQM, MRB).
    • Familiarity with product and process failure analysis.
    • Preferred certifications: ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Certified Quality Manager (CQM/OE), Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE), or Certified Six Sigma Black Belt (CSSBB).

Compensation and Benefits

  • Salary Range: $110K to $140K annually.

Candidate Profile
