We are seeking a driven and experienced Personal Lines Team Lead to oversee the daily operations and performance of our Personal Lines insurance team. In this key leadership role, you’ll bring your deep knowledge of underwriting, compliance, and client service to foster a high-performing, collaborative team environment. You’ll ensure operational efficiency, deliver exceptional service standards, and help drive strategic business outcomes through effective market and vendor partnerships.
Team Leadership & Development
Lead, coach, and mentor a team of Personal Lines insurance professionals.
Conduct regular team meetings and one-on-ones to set goals and track progress.
Foster a culture of accountability, learning, and open communication.
Identify opportunities for skill development and succession planning.
Operational Oversight
Manage day-to-day operations, ensuring consistent workflow and compliance with company policies.
Oversee portal workflows and implement process improvements for greater efficiency.
Ensure strict adherence to RIBO compliance standards and company guidelines.
Underwriting Expertise
Evaluate and approve Personal Lines insurance policies using sound underwriting principles.
Guide team members on complex or high-risk underwriting scenarios.
Stay current on market trends, regulatory changes, and industry best practices.
Compliance & Performance
Conduct regular audits to ensure high-quality output and operational consistency.
Develop, enforce, and update policies and procedures to maintain compliance and service standards.
Lead preparation for market and regulatory audits.
Technology & Innovation
Support the implementation and integration of AI tools and technologies to optimize team performance.
Relationship Management
Cultivate and maintain strong partnerships with insurance markets to enhance placement opportunities.
Manage vendor relationships to ensure alignment with service expectations and cost efficiency.
Report on market trends, engagement metrics, and business opportunities to senior leadership.
Active RIBO License required
Minimum 5 years of experience in Personal Lines insurance with a focus on underwriting
Leadership or supervisory experience in an insurance environment
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience with SigXP preferred
Strong understanding of policy wordings, coverages, compliance standards, and audits
CAIB, CIP, or CRM designation is a strong asset
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
Exceptional interpersonal and problem-solving abilities
Experience working with VIP clients
