Position Overview:

Our Award Winning Client, a nationally recognized leader in the aerospace and defense domain, is currently seeking a highly skilled Database Administrator with extensive experience in Oracle and SQL environments, coupled with strong systems administration capabilities. This critical role supports the performance, security, and reliability of enterprise-wide data systems across classified and secure infrastructures.

This opportunity demands expertise in both Windows and Linux platforms, including scripting and automation for seamless deployment and patching. The selected professional will actively contribute to safeguarding systems through hardening practices and will interact closely with engineering groups to ensure infrastructure compatibility with program-specific needs.

Note: An active TS/SCI clearance is required. Candidates must be willing to undergo a CI Polygraph if requested.

Key Responsibilities:

• Proactively monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize Oracle and SQL databases to maintain peak performance, data integrity, and availability.

• Administer and maintain Windows and Linux-based (RedHat REL 7/8, CentOS, Ubuntu) systems in secure and unclassified environments.

• Develop, manage, and implement automated scripts and tools for software and system deployment using technologies like PowerShell and Ansible.

• Apply patches, perform system updates, and enforce hardening procedures to reduce risk and align with security and compliance mandates.

• Serve as the database subject matter expert, ensuring high availability, backups, and recoverability through tools like Commvault or comparable solutions.

• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to develop tailored IT solutions based on evolving program requirements.

• Configure and manage network devices including Cisco routers and switches, preferably with CCNA/CCNP certification or relevant experience.

• Leverage virtualization technologies such as VMware for system hosting, testing, and scalability.

• Implement and maintain controls aligned with the NIST Risk Management Framework to support ongoing compliance.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree and 6+ years of relevant IT experience, or Master’s Degree with 4+ years. A minimum of 10 years of applicable experience is accepted in lieu of a formal degree.

• 4+ years of hands-on experience in Microsoft Windows and/or Linux system administration.

• 3+ years of dedicated experience as an Oracle Database Administrator.

• Active TS/SCI security clearance required.

• Willingness to submit to a CI Polygraph, if necessary.

Preferred Expertise:

• Solid understanding of Linux distributions including RedHat, CentOS, and Ubuntu.

• Familiarity with enterprise-grade network infrastructure, preferably with experience managing Cisco networking equipment.

• Proficiency in VMware or other virtualization platforms for infrastructure scalability.

• Knowledge and experience with Ansible for automated IT provisioning and configuration management.

• Experience with Commvault or equivalent enterprise backup systems.

• Proven success supporting systems under the NIST Risk Management Framework and adhering to federal security standards.
