Chief Inspector (Highway)Responsibilities:

• Supervise all aspects of highway field inspection, ensuring that material testing aligns with project specifications and RIDOT's testing schedule.

• Collaborate with contractor quality control teams and the RIDOT Materials Lab to collect and certify material samples as required by project standards.

• Provide oversight and direction for field inspection activities, ensuring the project stays on schedule and within compliance.

Required Credentials:

• NICET Certification in Construction Materials Testing, Highway Construction Inspection, or a current RI PE license

Technical Skills:

• Expertise in the management and inspection of large-scale highway construction projects, including knowledge of RIDOT’s testing protocols.

• In-depth understanding of construction materials and their testing requirements, with a focus on highway projects.

• Ability to lead and supervise quality control processes, ensuring full compliance with state and federal regulations.

Experience:

• Six (6) years of civil or highway engineering experience

• Two (2) years of field inspection experience in highway construction
