POSITION OVERVIEW:

 

Our client, a leading law firm with a commitment to excellence and innovation, is seeking a Conflicts Specialist to join our team, responsible for running conflict reports, analyzing data, and preparing conflict summaries. The ideal candidate will use uniform criteria and standards to manage conflict of interest processes efficiently. While this is a remote-friendly position, periodic in-person presence is required for annual or bi-annual team-building events and, depending on location, quarterly in-person meetings.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • ·       Review new matter memos to ensure accuracy and completion.
  • ·       Search all relevant parties in the firm’s conflicts database to identify potential conflicts.
  • ·       Review conflict of interest reports and prepare detailed summaries based on identified actual and potential conflicts.
  • ·       Provide conflict summaries to requesting attorneys and respond to related inquiries.
  • ·       Follow firm and department policies and procedures for conflict searching, reviewing reports, and preparing summaries.
  • ·       Assist in maintaining accurate and up-to-date shared documents.
  • ·       Mentor and train Conflicts Clerks as required.
  • ·       Assist with special projects and additional duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • ·       Experience:
  •     0-3 years of legal experience, preferably within a large law firm’s conflicts department.

 

Skills:

 

  • ·       Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • ·       Ability to work independently and under pressure with minimal supervision.
  • ·       Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
  • ·       Ability to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines.
  • ·       Strong research, computer, and database skills.
  • ·       Capability to mentor and train junior staff members (Conflicts Clerks).

 

Education:

 

·       Bachelor’s Degree required.

·       Juris Doctor (JD) preferred.

 

Physical Requirements:

 

·       Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.

·       Moderate or advanced keyboard usage.

·       Standard hours of work: Monday through Friday. Some late nights and weekends may be required.

·       Must be able to lift and move up to 25 pounds at times.

·       Travel may be required up to 10% of the time.
