POSITION OVERVIEW:

 

Our client, a leading law firm with a commitment to excellence and innovation, is seeking a skilled and experienced Legal Administrative Assistant for its Los Angeles office. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 to 7 years of litigation experience, particularly in areas such as Complex Civil Litigation, Commercial Litigation, National Class Actions, Multi-District Litigation, Mass Torts, Business Litigation, and Trial Support. This role supports Shareholders, Of Counsel, and Associates in a fast-paced office environment.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • ·       E-Filing and E-Service: Manage e-filing and e-service with Federal and State courts.
  • ·       Court Rule Proficiency: Maintain expertise in local court rules and procedures.
  • ·       Document Management: Utilize Microsoft Word (styles, numbering, schemes), Excel, Adobe, Workshare redlining, and Best Authority for preparing, proofreading, and revising documents.
  • ·       Litigation Support: Assist in preparing briefing binders, maintaining files, and managing records through FileSite/iManage (preferred).
  • ·       Calendaring: Manage deadlines and appointments using Vision Compulaw and Outlook.
  • ·       Client and Billing Support: Submit new business intake, conflicts checks, engagement letters, client billing, expense reimbursements, budgets, and check requests.
  • ·       Client Audit Coordination: Handle and coordinate client audit requests.
  • ·       Travel and Scheduling: Arrange travel, appointments, and calendar management.
  • ·       Communication: Display strong verbal and written communication skills for client interactions and team collaboration.
  • ·       Teamwork and Independence: Work independently and as part of a coordinated team, providing cross-desk support for the LA Office during absences or high-volume periods.
  • ·       Availability: Flexibility to work overtime as needed.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • ·       Minimum of 5 to 7 years of litigation experience, with a focus on Complex Civil Litigation, Commercial Litigation, National Class Actions, Multi-District Litigation, Mass Torts, Business Litigation, and Trial Support.
  • ·       Experience with Federal and State court e-filing and e-service.
  • ·       Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe, Workshare redlining, and Best Authority.
  • ·       Familiarity with legal document management systems like FileSite/iManage (preferred).
  • ·       Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking abilities.
  • ·       Proficiency in calendaring tools such as Vision Compulaw and Outlook.
  • ·       Ability to handle client billing, audits, and administrative tasks efficiently.
  • ·       Experience in working with legal teams in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.

Physical Requirements:            

 

·       Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.

·       Moderate or advanced keyboard usage.

·       Standard hours of work: Monday through Friday. Some late nights and weekends may be required.

·       Must be able to lift and move up to 25 pounds at times.

·       Travel may be required up to 10% of the time.
