POSITION OVERVIEW:

 

Our client, a leading law firm with a commitment to excellence and innovation, is seeking a Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) which plays a critical role in collaborating with personnel managers and the HR department on employee relations, engagement, and mobility issues. The HRBP supports managers and employees in addressing workplace concerns, enhancing employee productivity and morale, and ensuring compliance with employment laws across multiple regions, including Mexico City, Monterrey, Bogota, and the U.S. This position reports to the Director of Human Resources and works closely with department heads to create a positive work environment.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  •  Serve as a trusted advisor to managers and employees on employee relations, conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and performance management.
  •        Provide guidance on HR policies, ensuring fair and consistent application in compliance with federal, state, and local laws across regions.
  •       Assist with the annual performance evaluation process by communicating with managers and employees, encouraging timely completion, and guiding managers on delivering feedback.
  •        Support managers with performance issues, including preparation of performance improvement plans and managing employee separations, as needed.
  •        Oversee and manage leave processes, including FMLA, disability, parental leave, and other time-off requests, ensuring compliance with applicable laws.

·       Assist with staff promotions, role changes, transfers, relocations, and immigration matters.

·       Work with HR leadership on special projects and additional duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

 

  •        Experience: 7+ years in HR, focusing on employee relations, conflict resolution, performance management, employee mobility, and leave management, preferably in a professional services environment.
  •        Regional Expertise: Knowledge of HR guidelines and employment laws in Mexico City, Monterrey, Bogota, and the U.S.
  •        Languages: Proficiency in both English and Spanish, with strong written and oral communication skills.
  •        Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, problem-solving abilities, and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  •        Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required. HR certifications (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) or advanced degrees preferred.
  •        Software: Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

 

Standard hours of work: Monday through Friday, 8:00AM–5:00PM. 

Must be able to lift and move up to 25 pounds at times.

Travel may be required up to 10% of the time.
